Bonus enhancement Act a success of workers movement-BMS

Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh welcomes the Bonus enhancement Act passed by Parliament.  It expresses its sincere thanks to Prime Minister for making a provision of retrospective effects.  Now the workers will get the Bonus from 2014-15 financial years. The Government has kept its promise which it has given Trade Unions.

 

Regarding this today, a high level delegation of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh led by Shri Baij Nath Rai, President of BMS met Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitely, and requested to pass Bonus enhancement Act with retrospective effect.  In this connection the delegation presented, a memorandum to Hon’ble Finance Minister and Prime Minister in presence of Union Labour Minister Shri Bandaru Dattatreya and Power Minister Shri Piyush Goyal.  After a prolonged discussion the finance Minister responded positively to the demand made by BMS.

 

Shri Virjesh Upadhyay, General Secretary, Shri B. Surendran, Deputy Organising Secretary, Shri S.K. Rathore, Finance Secretary, Shri Devendra Kumar Pandey, All India Secretary and Shri Pawan Kumar, Zonal Organising Secretary were the members of delegation.

 

The Inter Minister Group headed by Shri Arun Jaitely on 10 point charter of demands has promised to enhance Bonus calculation limit from Rs. 3500 to 7000 and ceiling limit from Rs. 10,000 to 21,000. In response to the written appeal made by Labour Minister BMS & NFITU has deferred from 2nd September 2015 strike. The cabinet has approved the IMG’s decision and but made it to be applicable from 1-4-2015.  BMS demanded to make it effective from 1-4-2014. The Government has started implementing its promises given crores workers.
