BSNL& MTNL PENSIONERS WILL GET PENSIONS ON PAR WITH CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES — MINISTER PROMISES TO BMS DELEGATION
In response to the demand raised by Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) delegation to provide pensions to BSNL & MTNL employees on par with Central Government Employees, Sri Ashwini Vaishnav, Hon Minister of Communications, Government of India responded positively and accepted the proposal. He said his Ministry will send the BMS proposal to the Department of Personnel & Training for clearance.
A delegation of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh comprising Sh. B. Surendran, All India Organising Secretary; Sh. Ashok Shukla, All India secretary; Sh. Girish Arya, All India secretary; Sh. Dilip Chakravarty, BRMS & Sh. Kali Kumar, BRMS met with Sh. Ashwani Vaishnav, Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Communications, IT & Electronics at Rail Bhawan on 08th November 2022 and deliberated different issues related to BSNL, MTNL, Railways, and India Post Payments Bank Officers. Hon. Minister of State for Railways Sri Rao Saheb Danve was also presented at the meeting.
BSNL: Different issues pertaining to BSNL & MTNL were also discussed with a particular focus on the demand of pensioners regarding pensions at par with central government employees. The Minister has kindly consented due to our continued pursuance it has been sent to DoPT for further perusal.
IPPB: In India Post Payment Bank, BMS affiliated Officers Association is the only and largest Union. Some of the officials are not able to digest the growth of BMS in this new area and adopted different repressive measures. As a part of that, they transferred 7 office bearers belonging to Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh to far distant areas like Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh (Indo-China border) and Ukhrul in Manipur (Indo-Myanmar borders) in the name of administrative measures. The BMS delegation brought this vindictive measure to the notice of Hon. Minister for Which the Minister has taken cognizance of and has assured quick resolution. It was conveyed that BMS affiliated Union in IPPB Officers Association is the only union active in the India Post Payments Bank and should be given recognition immediately.
Railways: Various issues of Railways including victimization of BRMS activists and other workers’ issues were discussed in detail.
The meeting was very cordial and fruitful. BMS expresses its gratitude to both Ministers for their kind gesture and positive response.
