A delegation of BMS led by Sri M.Jagadeeswara Rao had met Hon Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sri Sarbanand Sonawal on 10th February 2022 at New Delhi and discussed various issues related to Port Federation and Sailors Unions.
The issues discussed are -promotion policies, HR issues, election for labour trustees by secret ballot system as per the amendments made in Maritime law, COVID death compensation, Seafarers issues like onboard accidents, manning Crew grievances, pension for retired seafarers, grievances of Andaman & Nicobar Island Seafarers etc.
The Honourable Minister interacted with the delegation, heard the grievances patiently and gave proper instructions to officials to do the needed follow-up.
