HIGH-LEVEL MEETING OF BMS WITH TEXTILES MINISTRY UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF HONOURABLE MINISTER

A high-level meeting of BMS was held on 9th November 2021 at Textile Ministry, New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Honourable Union Textiles Minister Sri Piyushji Goyal. BMS delegation led by Sri Vinod Sharma, Textiles Prabhari and Sri KP Singh, All India Vicepresident has submitted memorandums on various problems of Handlooms, Power Looms, Jute Mills, NTC mills and Private Cotton Mills. Top officials from Textiles Ministry; Handloom Commission, Jute Commission; Power looms; CMD of NTC Mills; Handicraft Commissions and other officials participated. The 80 minutes meeting had discussed multi-dimensional problems of the Textiles Sector. The Minister has promised to support the Handlooms, Power looms wholeheartedly. He also promised the delegation that the Government will try to give more benefits to Weavers directly and avoid Middlemen. He also said, the textiles Ministry will write Labour Ministry regarding Wage, Gratuity, working hours related matters. He invited suggestions on NTC mills issues, distinguishing between Power looms and Handloom products, new methods in Marketing methods, improvements in technologies etc. BMS delegation consists – Sri B Surendran; Sri Girish Arya; from Central BMS; Sri Ram Surat Giri & Sri Shiva Nath Mahato from Jute; Sri Jaya Prakash, Sri Babulal and Sri Gyan Mohan Basak from Handlooms; Sri Mohan Kumar from Power looms; Sri Vilas Chavare & Sri Dhanujay Lavade from NTC Mills and Sri Ghanashyam Pandey, General Secretary of Bharatiya Vastrodyog Karmachari Mahasangh. There will be separate meetings with concerned department officials on 10th November regarding area-specific problems .IT WAS A RESULT-ORIENTED FRUITFUL MEETING.
